The neighbourhood where the story took root.
Pedro arrived in 1967. The neighbourhood grew around a Medicine of the consulting room, of family and of trust.

Thirty years in 1998. More than forty by the end.
A 1998 report in the Diário Popular describes Pedro as a well-known and admired doctor in Campo Limpo, and says he arrived in the area in 1967, when transport and infrastructure were very different.
The office appears in his own material as the Clínica Médica Campo Limpo, under his direction, at Rua Dr. Avelino Lemos Jr., 67. An older advertisement for "Dr. Pedro Guedes, adults and children, surgery and general practice" gives Rua Souza Ferraz, 51. His permanence in the neighbourhood is one of the most consistent threads of his biography.
“Dr. Pedro treated patients with great love and care and did not mind their class: what mattered to him was recovery.”

The neighbourhood that stayed
The seventh-day mass was celebrated in Campo Limpo. The tribute read that day said he treated "mainly the people of Campo Limpo, in the south", but also patients "from several regions of the State of São Paulo". An office above a bakery, a Russian gentleman who came back walking, a woman who could not always pay: the neighbourhood's stories are his stories.
Felipe Guedes did not grow up with his father. He knows Pedro through the stories, and loves him for them. What he keeps most is the doctor who treated for free those who could not pay: a way of looking at people, not at money, that Felipe carries with him.
