Pedro Moretti GuedesMemorial · 1935–2010
About the memorial

A life does not fit in a photograph.

This memorial exists to gather what time usually scatters: stories, articles, documents, photographs and memories of a life devoted to people.

Why this site exists

The Pedro Moretti Guedes Memorial was born from Felipe Guedes's initiative to gather his father's story in one place, preserving photographs, texts, articles and episodes that used to be spread across albums and physical pages. The aim is for children, grandchildren, relatives, former patients, colleagues and researchers to know Pedro in full.

Preserve without inventing

Preserving Pedro is not turning a person into a character. It is giving back context, humanity and continuity to what was kept in papers, clippings, images and memories. The memorial distinguishes document, family memory, historical publication and information still under verification.

Give access without erasing time

Old medical texts are kept as documents of their time. Medicine evolves; no historical recommendation published here replaces current clinical advice.

A living project

The site does not present itself as the final version of the biography. It was designed to grow with new photographs, testimonies, documents and corrections. It is published in Portuguese, English and Spanish so that Pedro's story also reaches those who do not read Portuguese.

Editorial commitment

Rigour
Documented facts are presented as facts; memories, as memories.
Respect
Data on living relatives is not published. Documents with such information stay out of the gallery.
Transparency
Every timeline and biography page says where the information came from.
Openness
Corrections, additions and removal requests are handled through the contact page.
Who created this memorial

Felipe Guedes did not grow up with his father. He knows Pedro through the stories, and loves him for them. What he keeps most is the doctor who treated for free those who could not pay: a way of looking at people, not at money, that Felipe carries with him.
